Roy graduated with distinction in criminology at the University of Ghent. Combined with his prior education in Information Technology and IT management he started his career at IBM as a continuity consultant.
Since 2008 Roy is fully submersed in business continuity management, implementing resiliency in all layers of the business. Throughout the years he was involved in large international projects with global teams as well as in small engagements implementing parts or complete business continuity methodologies. In 2011 he graduated with distinction at the IBM business school (small MBA). As he wanted to pursue more strategic/business oriented consulting Roy moved to PwC to be part of the business continuity team as a principal advisor. Currently he is a director within the cyber & privacy practice responsible for the BCM, resilience and crisis management team and its service offerings.
Since several years Roy is specialising himself in organisational resiliency models in which several management systems are combined to have a full enterprise wide management of the risks in the fields of business continuity and information security management, incident and crisis management, security and risk management. A method capable of protecting the organisation against multi and hybrid threats combating the more complex threat landscape we live in.
Roy is regularly requested as a keynote speaker on crisis leadership and to provide expert guidance during and post crisis situations.
